SAMBHI is a one-stop centre for excellent training leading to two-year Higher National Diploma (HND), and Higher Professional Diploma (HPD) in Information Technology and Management is organized and approved by the Ministry of Higher Education

    The Higher National Diploma (HND) and the Higher Professional diploma (HPD) are University professional and vocational qualifications awarded to an individual upon successful completion of a course of training and fulfillment of the entire requirement pertaining thereto, during at least two (2) academic years or four (4) semesters

    The HND/HPD bestows on its holders all the academic and professional right privileges pertaining thereto. It certifies that its holders had qualified as a senior technician in the Artistic, Business, industrial and Technical fields. The qualification further curtsied that the holders has the capacity to use the acquired knowledge and skills in a specific field of study or area of specialization.

    The HND/HPD is a unique qualification characterized by the general, technical, professional, and vocational skills required for its awards. These criteria included the capacities and know how of holder of the diploma in specific skills and competencies

    The HND/HPD are earned through a national examination organized each academic year in one session by the ministry of higher education through the national committee for the organization of HND/HPD examinations.

Objectives of SAMBHI

  • Promote IT literacy and awareness, thus alleviating poverty as well as fostering development in areas where SAMBHI operates in Cameroon.
  • Promote the acquisition of high level skills in different IT and Management areas
  • Encourage income generation through work self-empowerment for graduates of SAMBHI.
  • To provide skills at the professional , HND and HPD levels in IT and Management to Cameroonians
  • To provide consultancy, accelerated and tailored courses in different areas of ICT , Management and Research in the Social Sciences 

FIELDS OF STUDY , SPECIALITIES AND OPTIONS

Studies leading to the award of the HND/HPD shall be organized according to the programs, field of the study and specialties.

A specialty corresponds to a group of options related to a particular profession or job profile on the labor market.

  2. Teaching, Education and Professional development.
  3. Enterprise Management and Administration
  4. Engineering and Technology

GENERAL EXAM STRUCTURE

Students shall be assessed for their academic performance in the programmes of the study on a marking scheme from 00 to 20 corresponding to the following grading system.

Candidates shall be declared successful in the examination pertaining to their specialty provided that they obtain at least an average mark or grade equivalent to 10 over 20 in all courses within a given specialty.
All students shall be subject to two continuous assessments in all courses taken within a programme of study in the HND/HPD.
 
CONTINOUS ASSESSMENT
The continuous assessment marks shall be calculated on the bases of the following components;
  • Participation in class and practical work;
  • Supervised assignment and class presentation;
  • Periodic test (written and/or oral)
The marks for practical shall be weighted on follows;
  • Continuous assessment practical  30%
  • End of semester practical examination 70%
  • Total 100%
MARK FOR THEORTICAL LECTURE
 
The marks for theoretical lectures shall be weighted as follows:
  • Continuous assessment 30%
  • End of semester examination 70%
  • Total 100%
N.B Each course shall be subject to at least two continuous assessments;
  • Written promotion examination shall be a organized under the responsibility and supervision of the school authorities.
All students shall be required to participate in workshop practices or industrial experience. The workshop practice shall be assessed by a duly designated professional in the business or industrial sector. The workshop on industrial experience shall be carried out either within a block period of not less than. Three months per academic years or in weekly workshop period 8 to 10 hours a week. In any case, all students in the HND programme shall be required to have at least 256 hours of workshop practice or industrial experience per academic year.
The above mentioned workshop practice or industrial experience shall be different from the workshop practice which are put of a regular course on a student.
